Understanding Support at Home

Support at Home is the Australian Government's program for funded in-home aged care. If you have heard the name and felt unsure, here is the plain version.

What is Support at Home?

It is the government program that funds support to help older Australians live at home. It is replacing the older Home Care Package system and bringing in-home support under one structure.

Who is it for?

Older people who need some help to keep living safely and comfortably at home, from a little domestic help through to nursing and more complex care.

How do I access it?

It starts with an assessment through My Aged Care. We can help you understand the process, prepare for the assessment and make sense of what you are offered.

What if the details feel overwhelming?

That is normal. The rules change and the language is heavy. Get in touch and we will explain how it applies to your family, with no pressure and no jargon.
